Mukaab: Important Features

• The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia has unveiled a project called Mukaab that aims to be the largest modern downtown ever built in the country's capital, Riyadh.

According to rumours, Mukaab would have enough space to house 20 Empire State Buildings.

• The structure will be 400 metres tall and 400 metres broad.

• This cube-shaped metropolis will serve as the focal point of Riyadh's new downtown.

• A lively mixed-use district is intended to be created in a 19-square-kilometer area to the northwest of Riyadh as part of the Mukaab development plan.

Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the crown prince, made the announcement on this mythical-looking edifice, known as Mukaab.

• The structure will be based on contemporary Najdi architecture with a futuristic twist.

• According to the developers, The Mukaab will have "ever-changing environments" made possible by holographic displays that interact with the neighborhood's built environment.

• The structure will have a tower enclosed within it on top of a spiral foundation and be based on contemporary Najdi architectural design with a futuristic twist.

• The building's 2 million square metres of floor space will be used to house residential and hotel units, as well as commercial and recreational spaces. It will also serve as a destination for travellers, with retail, cultural, and tourist attractions.

•The New Murabba project is reportedly comprised of 1.4 million square metres of office space, 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, and 980,000 square metres of retail space.

• The New Murabba project is positioned to become a role model for sustainable urban development with 1.8 million square metres of space devoted to community facilities.

• It will have green spaces, walking and cycling lanes, and other features that support active lifestyles.

• In addition, the district will have more than 80 places of leisure and culture, a museum, a technology and design museum, and a theatre.

Mukaab: Access and Facilities

• Within a 15-minute walking distance of New Murabba, residents will have access to places for residing, working, and entertaining themselves.

• It will only take 20 minutes to get to the airport by car.

• The project, according to the developers, will generate more than 350,000 jobs.

• A completion date of 2030 has been set for the entire New Murabba project.

• The Mukaab was scheduled to be completed early.
